KNIGHT DAYS - TRADITIONAL CROSSBOW GAMES
For those not acquainted with the tradition of the island who would find themselves in some of the streets of Rab on Mai 9, June 25, July 27 or August 15, it would be very existing to experiance a deafening noise of drums, trumpets and church bells as well as an apperarance of peculiary dresses young men armed with robust, heavy traditional crossbows. You would ask yourselves what that means and where do they go. These are namely the knights of the island of Rab, the crossbowmen, and they are heading for the main town squere where there shall be a tournament organized for them. At the tournament the best bowmen of the year will be publicly proclaimed. It is a custom that has been regularlyheld every year from 1364.

Mountain biking - A special experience on Rab are bike rides. With the multitude of small roads, paths and tracks where you can enjoy the seaside, Mediterranean woods and Rab represents a cycling oasis for all mountain bike fans.

RENT A BIKE
 TREKKING
As well as bike rides, trekking and its paths give a great possibilities to its fans. The treks is Lopar, Kristofor wood, in Banjol and Barbat, the track that lead to the island's highest peak. are the tracks that should be especially mentioned.
Treeking Routes (only suggestion)
1. Lopar is one of the prettiest tracks filled with diversities of sandy beaches, roads in the woods, Mediterranean plants and natural sites.
2. Kalifront, the largest area in the beautiful and peaceful oak woods and pines that lead to beautiful coves.
3. Gonar, the road from the town of Rab to the cove Gonar in Supetarska Draga.
Rab-Mundanije- Kamenjak, the busiest track route from the Komrcar parks in the centre of Rab to the highest peak on the island in Mundanije.
4. Banjol-Barbat-Lungo Mare, a track road by the sea, which leads from Rab through Banjol and Barbat, places with thousands of small docks. In the Banjol/Barbat border, high above the inhabited area there are ruins if the old Christian fortification St.Demian with beautiful panorama of the Barbat canal and Rab.

 DIVING: UNDER WATER ACTIVITIES
Diving activities have greatly developed recently. The number of visitors who choose this kind of holiday is increasing. A large number of shipwrecks as well as natural underwater relieves have been found around Rab. Beside the general course and possibility to rent equipment there are diving schools as well as the complete arrangement for diving holidays.

There are many sites with tennis courts on the island. Beside the courts you can get tennis lessons, a sparing partner. The bigger tennis sites are in Lopar - near Hotel settlement San Marino, in Kampor in Suha Punta and courts near imperial hotel in the old town.
Sailing and water sports - as a sea resort, rab offers great possibilities for almost all types of water sports. The weather conditions in May and September are especially good for windsurfing, but other months are possible as well. Except for sailing you can also rent different motorboats, jet-skies, kayaks, water-pedals.
Motocross - in the past few years' motor-cross and off-road competitions started to take place on the island. We have mentioned the road in cove Mag right by the seaside.
Except for these possibilities Rab offer football, basketball, handball playgrounds, mini golf and table tennis courts, paintball.

 In the tourist offer of the island a special stress should be put on many nice and unforgettable day trips to get to know the island and the surroundings and sightseeing through the old town of Rab, a panorama trip by boat, trips to the nearby islands: Kosljun, Losinj, Pag, Krk, the sea bottom sightseeing, organized visits to the national nature parks Paklenica, Kornati, Plitvie lakes, Fish picnic.
For one days trips by boat it is enough to take a walk down the coast where almost all the trip and excursion boats are and to see the offer they can give. The prices are from 100 to 300 Kuna's depending of the trip and the boat.
A special treat is a ride by small taxi boats, visiting small beautiful coves, Zavratnica field, and fishing with a host.

 On a Rab as well as many other sea resorts, a special significance is given to the gastronomy tradition, a traditional way of preparing food and dishes. The islands positions condition, the food that relies on the seafood and the Mediterranean tradition.
The traditional way of living on the island relied on fishing and seafood and agriculture. Today, such a way of life has left a deep trace.
Fish and seafood are basis food items with the inhabitants and many visitors and tourists who came in Rab. From pilchards which fed the poor island's peasants, through the octopuses, the groper to the fish emperor - the dentex.
Different fish stews, octopus salads, octopus with eggs, shafted calamari, seashell dishes, grilled blue fish, rolled groper, fish plates, marinade, baked tuna and many other ways of preparing surely won't let you down in many restaurants and many households.
Cooking skills and exquisite service in the cosy Mediterranean restaurant and catering facilities on the island guarantee the pleasure of traditional food made from natural and healthy seafood and gardens of Rab. 
Except for seafood, the Mediterranean area nad Rab's positions is especially good for different agricultures. Nightlife and entertainment represent an important part of tourist offer of any tourist resort. Rab can offer such service, too. That mainly applies to the centre of the island - where most of the offer is placed. The islands' specialities are many small bars, pubs, nightclubs, and cocktails bars. Among the old town's walls, squares and meeting places.
When the temperature rises, fun reaches its peak with different offers: live music, beach parties. At that time the nightclubs, discos and night bars guarantee good time to all the night's birds.

 The stormy past and different historical periods have all left their traces here, in the numerous buildings of great value, which are carefully looked after. The alternation of rulers and powers also produced different architectural vestiges. The town of Rab, situated on a small peninsula, surrounded by the walls and with its four impressive belfries, resembles a ship with four masts that sails, sometimes easily and sometimes fighting the storm, but always forward.

BEACHES OF RAB AND NATURISM AREAS |

 The clean Adriatic Sea surrounds the coast of the island by unique swimming site. On the island everyone can find a beach for himself or herself: rocky in the north, pebble in the east and sandy in the south.
The first public beach on the island, under the town park, was established in 1895, and after that the beaches in three great coves Padova (I, II, III). Rab with its natural characteristics is one big beach with sandy coves, rocky and clear coast and pebble beaches with the colours of Mediterranean vegetation.

INSEL RAB: DER NATURISMUS - FKK
 ISLAND RAB - The Forerunner of naturism on the Adriatic coast.
It is justified to mention the island of Rab, as a forerunner of naturism on the island People mention August 1936 when Edward VIII, the King of England was there, and the town authorities had allowed him to swim in the nude with his wife in Kandarola cove. But surely naturism started much earlier. The president of the international naturist union Richard Erhman from Vienna opened the first naturism beach on the island personally 1934. Naturism on Rab is also mentioned in the articles of Joseph Herman from the Czech Republic in 1907, which proves that the local people had realised the bright perspective behind such tourism.

The first and the most famous Nudist beach on Rab is Kandarola, on the peninsula Frkanj (approachable by taxi boat from the town port). The other official nudist beach is Cove Ciganka in Lopar, not far from the Paradise beach. But that are just two officially marked nudist beaches. There are many beaches, even areas, used by naturists, especially because of their natural beauties, and because they are not easy to approach by other swimmers. A paradise for naturists is also a 1500m long coast of peninsula Kalifront, in the green of pinewoods. There are also other beaches in Lopar such as Ciganka, Stolac, Dubac. For tourists with boats special treats are small islands around Rab: Dolin, Laganj, Dolfin, Goli, Grgur.

 Besides temperature and number of guests, the number if opened galleries with exhibitions (permanent or thematic), museums, music concerts and other cultural events and exhibitions. On these pages you can see some permanent and traditional cultural events and exhibitions. All the information about the cultural summer can be reached on the following pages every week.
During the summer months, great number if galleries open their doors, some of then with a big number of exhibits, some on the open air, exhibitions of different authors and many more.
There are no bigger museums on Rab, They are mostly situated in the churches and clerical buildings with the exhibitions related to the history of Rab. A few should be mentioned:
• Permanent exhibition in St. Justine's church (Gornja ulica)
• Museum in the church of the holly Cross (Gornja ulica)
• St. Euphemia monastery museum in Kampor.

The relic of the head of St.Christopher
In the lateral sides there are scenes of the saint's miracle and martyr's death with three male and female saints faces. On the top there is the Christ on th throne, Virgin Mary, St. John the Baptist and St.Christopher, gilded silver, gold from Zadar from the end of the 12th and the beginning of the 13th century.
RAB CLASSICAL MUSIC EVENINGS
One of the definitely most important music events on the island is Rab music evening. Those are the classical music concerts, held from June till September every Wednesday at 9 p.m. in the church of the holly Cross with famous performers from all over the world.

Rab has natural resources; the Mediterranean climate is good for the development of difference in the biological system. In the tender Mediterranean climate, Rab covered with woods seems forever green. Oaks, holy, rhe odours of Spanish brooms, immortelle makes Rab a Mediterranean area.
The unforgettable figs, olives, vines, lavender. make the island an exquisite experience. Because of its ecological cleanness, the sea bottom around Rab is the living space to many kinds of fishes, crabs, shellfish and it is true discovery to well-intended visitors.
